SAFE PASSAGE: C.U.R.E.'s staff provides a daily patrol insuring a safe environment traveling to and from school. C.U.R.E. train young, at risk men and women to embrace shared responsibility for their neighborhood safety.
SPORTS PROGRAM: Sports offer many important life lessons: Teamwork, cooperation, determination, training, honesty, and self-discipline. C.U.R.E.'s California Cowboys Youth Football and Cheerleading Programs as well as the "Summer Games Men of Honor" softball program instill life values in our impressionable youth.
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM: Provides much needed extra support and computer training from skilled volunteers to enhance and encourage education as well as improved class performance and grades.
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM: Provides at-risk youth daily life skills including communication and self-respect. By volunteering and helping out in their community our trainees gain pride in themselves and their neighborhoods. C.U.R.E. assists them on a path of becoming upstanding citizens and community leaders.
BUTTERFLY PROGRAM: A program developed, for young women in serious need, providing guidance, help, resources, tutoring, social services or whatever else may be required. This program is designed to provide a path for young women who need help and want to change their options. The goal, to acquire self respect as well as the education necessary to be self sufficient and to eventually provide a safe home for their own family.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Provides on-the-job training and employment references along with employment workshops, resume writing and the basics in employment behavior and ethics. Youth jobs are emphasized and researched for summer and after school employment.
COMMUNITY INTERVENTION: When called upon, C.U.R.E. mediators, who are Professionally Trained Community Intervention Specialists (PCIs), will assist with dialogue and discussion with local gang members. A peacemaking approach is provided at local parks and other common areas to assist in eliminating gang conflict.
BAFTA/LA MOVIE SCREENINGS IN THE PARK: C.U.R.E.'s partnership with BAFTA/LA created a much needed and long awaited screening room the Helen Keller Park. Hollywood filmmakers provide current works for screenings by the local community while offering insights into film and how it is created through on site question and answer sessions with cast members and directors.
